Project Notes: LSM Broadcast Quilt

This quilt was made by Erin Grogan. She wanted the quilting to reflect a retro 1970s vibe. So we found “Daisy Lace” and it was a great fit! The final quilt reminds me of crochet Granny Squares, with bold colors, and great texture. The bold orange backing fabric also lets the bold quilting design pop, and reminds me of beautiful Mexican tile designs, or antique pressed tin ceiling tiles. The combination of linear and round elements complements the quilt top design that also incorporates the same contrast. It has a soft, graphic texture that is bright and feels cheerful. It’s a great quilt to gaze at, and enjoy the colors and shapes.
