Project Notes: WSCo. - DCMQG Childhood Wildlife

I made this volunteer project with donated fabrics from the DC Modern Quilt Guild. I tried several design layouts, and landed on this open concept with a classic block design. I layered a simple, modern panto to the piecing, blending the thread choice with the rustic natural brown and green shades in the fabrics. The scale selected is large, to accommodate lots of snuggles and flopping around for playtime. This was one cuddly quilt! The repeating treehouse fabric and the general animal theme made for a silly I-Spy type quilt for a child. It will find a loving home through the DC Diaper Bank.
